SIgns of Romance Scammers

Disclaimer: A fair bit of this was written by Microsoft Copilot AI  (the warning signs), but the information is solid. A fair bit of it is also by me. It is a mixture, and it is worth reading if you have an online presence.

Romance scammers aren’t looking for love; they’re hunting for vulnerability wrapped in hope. These digital con artists craft fake personas, often charming, successful, and conveniently far away, and deploy them across dating apps, social media platforms, and even gaming communities. Their goal isn’t connection; it’s control. Once they’ve hooked a target emotionally, they pivot to manipulation, often spinning elaborate tales of emergency, tragedy, or opportunity that require urgent financial help.

Scammers profile potential victims with surgical precision. They look for signs of loneliness, recent loss, or emotional openness. Public posts, dating bios, and comment threads become reconnaissance zones. Widowed, divorced, or newly single individuals, especially those expressing a desire for companionship, are prime targets. The scammer’s playbook is adaptive: they mirror interests, mimic emotional cadence, and escalate intimacy fast, all while steering the conversation away from video calls or in-person meetings.

In this article, we discuss warning signs of romance scammers, and how to avoid them.

The Big Beautiful MRI (As told by Donald J Trump) REBLOG

They did the MRI, folks,  a tremendous MRI, probably the best anyone’s ever seen. The doctors came in, they said, “Sir, we’ve never seen anything like it.” They were amazed, actually, one of them had tears in his eyes, beautiful tears, because it was so perfect. Perfect symmetry, perfect everything. They said, “Sir, your MRI, it’s magnificent, like looking at the Mona Lisa if the Mona Lisa had a brain.”

Health update

Went to the doctor today for blood tests and refills.

My A1c was 7.8, which is meh. It should be below 7 for a diabetic. Last time it was 6.8, so I'm doing something wrong.

I've gained 20 pounds since I went off Ozempic, so I'm going to go back on it, side effects be damned. I'd rather have the fucking headaches and exhaustion than keep packing on the pounds. So I'm back on the Ozempic.

Leaving the house is sheer hell for me. High pain levels today from all of the activity.

Gonna lay down for a nap.

You can't compare them!

It's not right to compare Trump to Hitler. It isn't. It just is NOT!

Not Another WORD, Mister!

I have just woken up.

Why is it that Sam expects me to be wide awake and able to make decisions and converse on current events when my brain is not fully booted up?

Twenty-one years of marriage and he still does not understand that just because I am upright with my eyes open does NOT mean that I am cognizant of a damn thing!

Men!

The Constitution Is Dying

Trump allies are plotting a third term — and no one’s stopping them.

Donald Trump isn’t waiting to test the limits of our republic — he’s already smashing them.

Windows Speech Recognition

I was trying a program called Whisper WISPR and it wasn't working so well it only gives you 2000 words a month and the free version and after that it's 120 a year and you can't pay by the month.

Testing voice recognition software

Due to the carpal tunnel and peripheral neuropathy, my hands are dead numb. I can't type for beans.

I just downloaded something called Wispr, which is voice-to-text software. I'm testing it out today. Forgive any weird typos, it's the software, not me.

It seems to be working pretty well. I only get 2,000 words a month with the free version. I may have to pay for this. We'll see how it goes. I'm so fucking tired of neuropathy and carpal tunnel I could fucking scream.

Computer stuff is fucking awesome though.
