From Quora: What Sort Of Atheist Am I?

From Quora:

The question:

What is the difference between an agnostic atheist, an apathetic atheist and a gnostic atheist? Do these terms have any meaning?

Tim Sabin's reply:

Oh, yes, they DO have meaning.

An agnostic atheist is someone that doesn't believe in any gods, but is open to evidence of the existence of ANY god in the future.

An apathetic atheist is usually called an apatheist. They don't care about the question of whether or not there are gods.

A gnostic atheist is someone that is really 100% sure that there are no gods. I'm not sure what would happen if they were confronted with evidence of the existence of a god. This is a positive claim, and requires the same level of evidence as do the claims of theists.

My reply to Tim:

I would say I’m an agnostic and apathetic and flat out angry atheist. I am willing to hear and read actual scientific evidence of some deity or other, but ultimately, I just don’t give a fuck. I won’t worship it anyways, even if I acknowledge its existence, because of the simple fact that this fucking world is such a mess, children are starving, wars are killing kids and old people and young men, disease is rampant in the third world, and what the hell kind of god lets that shit happen? I’ll tell you what kind: the kind who does not deserve to be worshipped, so fuck that guy. 😛
