I wanted to get my husband's name tattooed on, but he was really against the idea. So I got a rose, to commemorate the day we fell in love, in the San Mateo Rose Garden in California, surrounded by what we call Fire Roses (red roses that changed in a gradient to yellow at the petal tips)...
The fun thing is that I had my ink artist etch Sam's name in before he filled in the colors, so that name is there, and I'll wear it to the grave with pride.
This song hits me. "I got your name written here in a rose tattoo" hits home. Even when he's gone, I'll have him on my arm and never forget him. While he was up north during what I now call his "Lost Weekend" even though it was a year, I would look at it and remember the love, and it actually helped me cope.
Do you have any tattoos that hold deep meaning for you?
